BBBEE Vision and Structure

Sheaam is committed to B-BOS (broad-based ownership schemes) in our B-BBEE ownership structure. We are in line with the objectives of the B-BBEE Act which specifically promotes broad-based black economic empowerment. Forecourt and convenience employees will benefit from a collective ownership programme, from the wealth created through B-BBEE share ownership. In our collective ownership scheme, the individuals of the scheme exercise those rights of ownership to the exclusive benefit of the beneficiaries. We intend to empower the faces of Shell that the customers will interact with. Particularly women in Shell, to develop their skills and uplift their families. Funds will be for bursaries, tuition, development and community upliftment. Shell sites will be empowered to become +Community support beacons. Sheaam will also empower current SDSA staff to benefit from an employee share scheme which would assist in staff retainment and upskilling. Sheaam is also committed to include BEE retailers (pending legislative feedback) into the shareholding of the company.
